My New Apartment is Great and Perfect for a Single Gal ( William R. Blevins posted on March 4th, 2015 )

After living with my fiance for the past year and a half, we decided to call it quits. I had no idea that was coming, so it was a shock to have a great day with him, only to find that we were discussing breaking up by dinner on that same day. I had been looking at the Heron Walk Apartments and some other places nearby as possibilities for the two of us to move to together, so I realized that I would now be looking at each of these places alone.

Before living with my fiance, I lived with my parents for 25 years. I moved out of their place immediately got a place together with my now, ex-fiance. So, I had never lived on my own before, and I was a bit nervous about how to find the best place and to find out what living alone would feel like. My parents were in the middle of selling their home in order to move into a small one bedroom apartment, so moving back in with them was no longer an option. They assured me that I would be fine and would help me if I needed it.

I decided to call Heron Walk first. (more…)

Ensuring the Safety of My Home ( William R. Blevins posted on March 4th, 2015 )

Checking out the ADT prices recently after a string of burglaries in my neighborhood has inspired me to take the steps and ensure that my home is actually going to be more secure. I admit that I have been sleeping with nothing but some locks on the doors and the windows, living for the past couple of years since buying the home with no concern for anything like a robbery. I had no idea that something like that would happen in our neighborhood by after the sixth house being broke into, I realize that nobody where a person lives they can be vulnerable. (more…)

I Now Feel Safe Again with an Alarm System ( William R. Blevins posted on March 2nd, 2015 )

My husband goes out of town for business quite often. He is typically away for up to two weeks at a time, about once per month. I have always felt quite safe when he is gone because we live in a nice area and we have a big dog. Last month, I receive a mailer from ADT in the mail that explained that they were having a special in my area. Several of my neighbors took advantage of the great discount and had an alarm system installed, but I was not so sure that I needed one. But that changed on night a few weeks ago.

My husband was out of town again, and he was scheduled to come home the next night. Our dog started barking, but it is very common for him to bark. He barks at his own tail! But something was different this time. He would bark, and then give a very low growl. He did this over and over again. (more…)

Top Deals on Home Insurance ( William R. Blevins posted on March 2nd, 2015 )

I am in the process of wrapping up the purchase of a house. I am pretty excited, because owning a house is something that I have wanted to do for a long time. I have just not been in the position to buy one before, because I did not have enough money for a down payment. I managed to use my tax return, and some other money to put towards the down payment, and now I am looking at home insurance deals as I am going to have to pick an insurance policy before the mortgage will be official.

Since I am trying to get all of this wrapped up swiftly, it is important for me to get house insurance soon, and then the mortgage will be official, and I will officially own the house. That will make me feel better, and it will give me a good bit of relief, when it comes to this subject. I am going to have to find a policy that is good, and has an adequate amount of coverage.

One of the things I am concerned about though, is finding an adequate amount of coverage, without either too high of a deductible, or too high of a premium. I guess that premium is what concerns me more, because it is something that I am always going to have to pay. But, I should also be careful to not get a policy with too high of a deductible because that could obviously be quite bad for me. It is going to be hard to avoid both things, so at some point, I am going to have to make a compromise in my best interests. First off, I am going to try to look into some of the companies that offer insurance plans in my area.

Going to Have to Tighten My Belt a Bit ( William R. Blevins posted on March 1st, 2015 )

Going to have to tighten my belt a bit, although I have no idea what that saying came from. I guess it comes from not having enough to eat and getting slender from lack of food. I am talking about stuff other than that. I am going to eat the same as always, but maybe a bit less of the expensive stuff. I am going to try to see if I can save on internet, but obviously I want to do that without getting crap internet service. You can actually find really cheap DSl, but you have to be one of those people who does not really use a lot of bandwidth for that to be good with you. If you are like me then it is going to be a lot tougher for you to find a deal that makes a bit of sense and does not cost you a good bit of money.

I am thinking that I do not need to pay the cable company. (more…)

Everyone Wants to Watch the Music Awards ( William R. Blevins posted on March 1st, 2015 )

Satellite TV PC Master - The main window of Satellite TV PC Master ...The hottest music awards show of the year came one a couple of weeks ago and I almost missed it. My television provider was having trouble with their network, which was interrupting the service of everyone in my area. We wouldn’t take it, and decided to go to http://www.cable-tv.com/regional-providers/ to switch to a better provider. I think this was the first time I had seen a mass of people migrating from a service. The phone lines at the provider were very busy because of all the people calling. I guess everyone else wanted to see the music awards just as much as I wanted to see it. There were some pretty big acts that would be performing, so it was understandable.

The night that the music awards happened, I ordered a pizza to eat while I was watching it. (more…)

Things Have Changed Since I Have Been Gone ( William R. Blevins posted on March 1st, 2015 )

After just getting out of the military for good, I decided to go back home to where most of my family is in Texas. I stayed with my parents for awhile, and then moved out in only months to get my own place. Dad said we have more choices for electricity, so I should look at www.texasenergycompanies.net so that I could comparison shop.

I found this to be interesting considering that when I left for the military, the only choice that anyone had in our area for utilities as through the city. This had long been a bone of contention with many people because people feel it unfair that the city kept a monopoly on who we could get electricity from for many decades.

When a local news outlet found out that the city was raising monthly rates again because they said had no other choice, the media outlet began digging. Everyone was glad they did because they found out the employees at the utility company where spending thousands upon thousands on ridiculous conferences they did not need, expensive luncheons every week for hundreds of employees and many other types of unnecessary over spending.

But the good news is that with deregulation, we now have the choices we deserve. When I used the previously mentioned website, I found that I could get the service I want at a much better price than our city government is offering us. I decided that I would take the money savings and put it away in a special savings account each month. I will be doing this with any money that I save from any business that I buy from, but it really feels good to do that when it comes to saving cash that does not need to go in my city’s pocket while they overspend. I am pretty happy with my new arrangement!

Started Building the Lake House ( William R. Blevins posted on March 1st, 2015 )

Image - Texas-map.jpg - LiberapediaI spent this morning talking to the different Texas energy providers who are available to hook up the power at the lot. Of course the house is not there, so they are not going to be able to hook the power up to the house itself. That is not the only thing you need power for. Of course I could use a generator to power the tools that I need to build the house, but that would be rather expensive. Gas costs you three bucks a gallon and a tank full of gas in a generator is going to get burned out at around a gallon an hour, depending on the amount of load you are using. (more…)

I am now officially in Bowling Green Ohio and I have my first teaching job at the university of Bowling Green. I wish I could say that it is a long term job, but no one here thinks it is going to be. They have pretty much no budget for this class and I am the low man on the totem pole here. In fact I probably do not even rate a spot on the totem pole. I definitely will not make it on the faculty web page beyond a short note. I got Ohio high speed internet access and apparently my apartment comes with free cable. (more…)

We have done a lot of the work. We hired some Nashville Wedding photographers yesterday. Of course I had not thought about the fact that we needed to think about filming the wedding. In this day and age I am sure it will be filmed by a couple dozen people with their smart phones, although I always wonder if something is wrong with those people myself. For instance if I am at a ball game I sit there and watch the game. I get a hot dog and some nachos, a soda or maybe a cold beer if I feel like one and I enjoy the game. There is always a large number of people around me with their smart phone pointed at the ball players. (more…)

Finding the Right Energy Provider ( William R. Blevins posted on January 16th, 2015 )

Customers living in a deregulated area who are looking for an energy supplier need not be confused with all of the options available to them. For example, a customer who is looking at prospective suppliers can easily find out that Reliant Energy in Brownsville is one of their choices once they visit a website that is dedicated strictly to educating customers about their choices. After looking at all of the suppliers who provide energy for Brownsville, a person is able to look into each company more carefully to determine if that is the right company for their household needs.

Reliant is a good choice for many reasons. The main reason is because they are one of the leaders in the industry. An energy company does not get to that position by not taking care of customer needs. Otherwise, customers would flock elsewhere since they do have that choice. Reliant has a strong history to back up their claims that they provide customers with a great service at competitive prices. Reliant Energy is also proactive in the communities that it is in. Thinking About the Best Honeymoon Detinations ( William R. Blevins posted on December 17th, 2014 )

Of course there are a lot of great places where you could take a honeymoon, but I am thinking in terms of all of the factors, including cost. So a couple of weeks in Maui would be awesome, but that is on the wrong side of the world for me. It would take a lot of time to get there and it would be way too expensive. I have been checking this Majorca blog and it looks like a very strong candidate. It is a beautiful little island, you do not have to worry too much about the political turmoil that you might find in other parts of the sunny areas of the world and we could fly down there in about three hours from the UK. Tips For Getting The Most Out Of Selling Real Estate ( John B. Nebel posted on August 26th, 2014 )

It is both necessary and important for you to show patience toward the real estate agent. For example, your real estate agent's take on the situation might differ from your own. You may want to really get the ball rolling, only to find that your agent has a different opinion. At times, you might disagree with them, but a good agent knows what they're doing, and sticking to their advice will aid you in making a quick sale.A new layer of paint is one of the best improvements you can make while preparing to sell a house. It is something that you can probably do, and it is not an expensive improvement. A simple coat of paint will make your walls pop and give your home a new look and feel. However, because you are selling your home, you should select neutral colors, such as beige or eggshell. When pricing a home to sell, remember that it is up to you to name the asking price, not your real estate agent. You need to own your price in order to feel comfortable with it. Your agent is there simply to offer suggestions and advice of what changes to make if the home doesn't sell. How I feel – Helpful Credit Card Strategies To Help You Get By ( Kathleen W. Boyd posted on August 26th, 2014 )

Resist the temptation to loan credit cards to people. Even if it's a good friend that needs something badly, it's not smart just to lend a card out. That can lead to charges for over-limit spending, should your friend charge more than you've authorized. A sensible way to use credit cards is to use one for all your monthly spending, then pay it off each month. Using a credit card can help you to keep track of your spending and your statement serves as a monthly reminder of where your money is going. Of course, the key to this type of money management is to be sure to pay your balance each month, in order to avoid finance charges. If you are using a number of credit cards at the same time, prioritize your use of them by the most appealing APR. As a general rule, you should use the card that offers the lowest interest rate first. Ideally, try to cut down on the debt you are carrying from one month to another. If you need to have a balance, ensure you carry higher balances on cards with a lower APR.Only use your card when it is necessary. As a daily alternative, use a debit card instead. You should use your credit cards for large Continue Reading Through

There are various natural ways you can whiten teeth at home. A great thing to use is baking soda. Some toothpastes on the market have baking soda as a main ingredient, but you can also whip up a natural paste at home.Avoid teeth whitening if you are pregnant or nursing. The chemicals used for the whitening process may be safe to put in your mouth, but they could be potentially harmful to your little one. Consult with your physician and your dentist before you attempt any process during your pregnancy and nursing periods. If you mix some lemon juice and table salt into a paste, brush teeth normally using a little bit of the paste you made. Some people are sensitive to salt on their teeth, however. Dealing With Acne Problems? Find Solutions Here! ( John B. Nebel posted on May 27th, 2014 )

If you wear make-up or a cleanser that is oil based, stop using it! These oil based products are horrible for acne. Since your body already produces oils naturally, adding more oils to your skin will only serve to increase your chances of developing acne problems. Instead, look for oil free products. Most acne medications and even the pimples themselves, can make skin dry and tight. Acne-prone skin needs to be moisturized, you just need to get the proper moisturizers. Avoid anything that has oil or alcohol in them, as these can irritate the already compromised skin. Look for gentle, even natural lotions and creams that are made for acne-prone or very sensitive skin.If you have a severe case of acne, consider speaking to your doctor about using antibiotics to treat your skin problem. Antibiotics target the bacteria in your skin, which helps to get rid of your acne and leaves your skin looking great. Be aware that there can be side effects from the medication, including dryness and sensitivity to light. The less stressed you are, the easier it will be to handle your acne problems. Not one thing pleasant – Love Cooking? With These Tips You’ll Love It Even More ( John B. Nebel posted on May 14th, 2014 )

When you are sauteing a food, make sure you do not add too much to the pan. The extra moisture will steam the food instead of sauteing it and will not add that little bit of crispness that sauteing is good for. Be sure that you do this when the temperature is low too. Planning and preparing a large meal can feel completely overwhelming. Start your preparation the day before so that you are not overwhelmed with stress. This includes gathering all ingredients, utensils and sauces. When you make chicken stock, a good piece of advice is to make it in a big quantity. If you make a large amount of stock you can freeze it for future use. You can use your homemade chicken stock for soups, casseroles and stews. Allow the stock to cool, then split it up into heavy duty Ziploc freezer bags. To make your cooking less stressful, get all of your ingredients ready before you start. By doing this, you avoid the hassle of making it through half of a recipe and realizing you are missing a key ingredient. It does not take any longer to get everything you need together beforehand, but it saves you time and aggravation in the long run.Place salad Continue Reading Through

Consider this Written piece – Plumbing Tips You Really Need To Know About ( Kathleen W. Boyd posted on May 6th, 2014 )

As was stated in the beginning of this article, there are many different problems that can go wrong with your plumbing, from something so small to something big. When you use the ideas that you've just learned, you'll find that dealing with plumbing problems is no longer a stressful ordeal.A water heater that has no tank is a good choice for those that are conservation-minded. Unlike a conventional water heater, these do not store any water, and heat up the water only as it is needed. This saves money on electricity and water costs. If you are installing a new water heater and you notice a pipe extending from the drainage pipe, make sure this pipe is reconnected. The recirculation pipe helps hot water circulate through your plumbing system so that you won't waste water while heating it.If you encounter a problem with your garbage disposal, resist the urge to reach in and fix it with your bare hands. The thing that I acquire – Top Leadership Tips Straight From The Experts ( Kathleen W. Boyd posted on May 5th, 2014 )

As a matter of fact, such tactics are overrated. The biggest impact you make in terms of personnel is who you hire, who gets fired, and who gets assigned to the big projects. A good leadership idea is to engage your employees in meaningful conversation about work.
